Currently becoming the only golf resort in Europe with this prestigious environmental distinction.
Palma de Mallorca, 3rd March 2021 - Arabella Golf Mallorca, the resort that groups the courses Golf Son Muntaner, Golf Son Vida, Golf Son Quint and Golf Son Quint Pitch + Putt, receives this recognition for its commitment to sustainability and the environment after an exhaustive audit.
Golf Son Vida, Golf Son Quint and Golf Son Quint Pitch + Putt join Golf Son Muntaner this year in being awarded the EMAS Certificate (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), the highest European environmental certificate for organizations that want to improve their environmental performance. EMAS represents effective contributions to greater climate protection, supports energy efficiency and resource savings, thus confirming that all environmental regulations are met and that it is a solid foundation for sustainable development.
Arabella Golf Mallorca has been working for years with a firm environmental policy which aims to: line up with the sustainable development goals promoted by the United Nations, transform Arabella Golf into a circular company, take the environment totally into account within Arabella’s strategy and bet on innovation and leadership when it comes to tackling environmental challenges.
All of the above is included in its new environmental programme, Green Evolution, a strategic plan focused on four main lines, which are the management of water, energy, sustainable consumption and the preservation of the natural environment.
“We have a clear commitment to sustainability, which we have been developing for years. Obtaining the EMAS Certificate for all our courses is proof of this. Now is the time to consolidate all the initiatives and make a qualitative leap towards a comprehensive project that allows us to take the environment into account in all our strategic decisions”, explained Bernat Llobera, Area Director of Arabella Golf Mallorca.
With its sight set on 2021, Arabella Golf Mallorca will continue to develop its environmental action plan, fully framed within its ESG criteria: promoting the use of renewable energy, continuing to reduce the carbon footprint and reducing the use of natural resources (water, energy and fuel), plastics and chemicals, and reusing the organic matter generated are actions that define the commitment for continuing to be a benchmark in aspects of environmental governance, always opting for including sustainability in the choice of its business strategies.
